Library Rules

  • Membership: All students of the school are automatically members of the library.
  • Discipline and Silence: Strict discipline and silence must be maintained in the library and reading room. This creates an environment conducive to reading and learning.
  • Book Borrowing: Students from Class VI to X are allowed to borrow one book at a time. This helps ensure fair access to library resources for all students.
  • Library Periods: Books can only be issued and returned during the designated library period of the class, not during regular teaching periods. This policy helps manage library operations smoothly.
  • Care of Books: Library books must be handled with care and returned on the due date. Students are responsible for the books they borrow.
  • Prohibited Actions: Marking, underlining, cutting, erasing, or tearing pages of library books are strictly prohibited. Any damage to books detected by the librarian will be subject to disciplinary action.
  • Use of Textbooks and Reference Materials: Textbooks, reference books, and periodicals are for in-library use only and are not to be taken out.
  • Book Recall: The librarian has the authority to recall any book at any time if there is an urgent need for it.
  • Return Before Breaks: Library books must be returned at least one week before leaving for any extended absence or one month before school vacations.
  • No Dues Certificate: Students must obtain a "No Dues Certificate" from the librarian when withdrawing from the school. This certificate confirms that all borrowed books have been returned.
  • These rules are designed to ensure that the library is a resourceful and orderly place for all students. They help maintain the integrity of the library's collection and provide a conducive environment for study and reading.
